It wasn't that hard. They where at the top of the stairs. The tough job was a repaired stair that was freshly poured concrete. It stood out bad in the original photo.

I edit mostly with helicon filter. I find it to be more user friendly in regards to editing.

A program I purchased online last October when I started doing photo manipulations for about 75 dollars. It does basic photo editing but the feature I use the most is the advanced retouching options. With it I can selectively recolor, lighten/darken, clone or merge two images into one: "all the good stuff :D. Photo shop does all the same plus more. I just like the layout of Helicon better when fine tuning a manipulation.

I've haven't tried gimp yet. Likely will in time, I fiddle with new software every now and then. Some are useful for art, some simply destroy a perfectly good picture.
