The first impression is that the piece is disgustingly adorable. There is a solidly mixed design to the color scheme and layout, with the girl in front catching the eye first, then the two in the background dividing the attention, which then spreads the eye into catching the many layers of detail hidden amongst the oranges and blacks. While it does at first bare the impression of an actual scene one might encounter in life, the wooded background in particular insinuates a spookily ethereal quality to the image, suggesting the scene depicted is itself not of this world. And while the basic setting may call to mind macabre elements of the season, the facial expressions especially give the air of a more lighthearted spin on all hallows eve.
But then, the first impression IS that the image is disgustingly adorable.

This is AMAZING!!!! I can't believe what a great job you did adding the make-up and color to the girl stock image!! It looks like she was actually made up like that for the photograph! And the lighting blend is perfect -- GREAT job!

Thanks...I often try hard to manipulate photos in a manner that appears un-manipulated, for it is the most challenging aspect of photo-manipulation in my opinion...It's nice to read comments that recognize that effort...Thank You...
